T100 mba worth it if current company is paying for some of it?

Post Body

I got accepted to a private T100 school in the US South. I have 4yoe in finance in IB operations and now PE software consulting/project management, and my salary has gone from $47k to $70k bonus of ~10% (includes switching jobs). I feel like that's pretty decent, but I'm at a point now where I think that growth will slow significantly, so I'm considering an MBA. This program meets on-campus at night. My company will reimburse some of the cost, and the school will match whatever the company pays! There are some internal roles that this would open doors for. I work at a very large, global firm.

  1. I'd like to land either a management consulting role or a senior FP&A role (internally or externally). I know FP&A is doable, but what about consulting after a T100 MBA and 4-5yoe? My title now includes "consultant" but what I do is not really similar to management consulting.

  2. Is a 40-50% salary bump realistic after completion? That would put me into 6 figures in a MCOL area. My wife works as well so we would be pretty comfortable if I could grab a 100k role. I won't be up for promotion in my current role for 3-4 years based on what I've seen from others.
