I’ve been playing Mario Party Superstars lately and been enjoying it a ton. It’s exactly how fun I thought it would be to play classic Mario Party online with randos.

Anyway-I was playing my third game on Horror Land as I went through each map once. I always play online with random people (I have no friends on switch besides my niece) because it’s more fun to know I’m playing with real people.

We go through the routine of hunting for the stars-and the first unique event that happens is 3 out of 4 of us had chain chomp whistles to call the star away.

Everyone also ended up with a Skeleton Key which everyone used on the same door the one on the left bottom corner of the map-where the boo is-I managed to get a second key and use it on another door-this will be important for later.

I’m the first to go down into the bottom left corner of the map after managing to get my hands on a star and find out in the daytime there is a boo in this area and used him to get free coins from another player-this whole thing was a bad idea-as with other players not having a star yet and later on me having 2 stars and everyone else only having 1-this gave them an idea that had me with a target on my back with this boo.

So later on-one of them goes through the gate and goes to see the boo (I tried to hold them off with a cursed block which only allows a player to roll 1-3-it only delayed the inevitable)

They get there…and nothing. Turns out the regular boo doesn’t come out during the nighttime-I got out Scott free this time-but now another player has the same damn idea-still on the chopping block.

While this plan is in motion-one player lands on a space with another player in the last 5 turns so it’s a duel mini game-and for some reason this person bets all his coins-80 of them on this game-and the other player had 90 so safe to say-big pot to win.

A winner is declared and they get 180 coins.

Later on the player who lost ends up on a chance space-and on the first block they get the player who won the 180 coin lot-he then hits the middle block-it says they will switch coin amounts with another player-the player who gets that coin lot? Me.

And I only had 45 coins so it was a hilarious shock to say the least-but everyone is still in this game-it’s just coins after all-as long as you can get stars you are good or so they thought….

Now the second player with the boo idea tries to head down there to engage the plan of attack on my star count…and it’s nighttime again-they can’t steal my star-I get out unscathed YET AGAIN!

Then the star space ends up nearby this player-remember those chain chomp whistles I mentioned? Well everyone else used theirs…and I still had mine-I blew the whistle and the star ended up in my general direction I was heading-I had some double and triple dice blocks saved up.

I then proceed to get a third star and then a fourth after it ended up in my direction yet again.

And that’s not the best part….

Remember the second skeleton key I got? Well as I left the spot where I got my fourth star-I happened to stop by a crossroads with one way that has a gate that needs a skeleton key-this path is in the top right corner of Horror Land-and so I looked on the map and saw an image of…King Boo?

And I wondered what would happen? Surely something interesting would happen? Or maybe it wouldn’t work since it’s nighttime.

I decide to take the shot because screw it I had 13 on the dice I’m still running through so why not?

And here it all comes together.

I go to the spot with the King Boo…turns out…he is open during the Nighttime on this map-he then proceeds to tell me…he can steal one star FROM EVERY OTHER PLAYER for the right price. Every other player had one star only.

I then see the price-150 coins to fulfill this deal…and another player accidentally gave me 180 coins…safe to say…I MADE OUT LIKE A BANDIT STRAIGHT FROM KARMA HERSELF!

I proceed to die laughing on the floor for 5 minutes straight…then I checked to the other players tags and NOW see they are replaced with the characters names.

ALL 3 OF THEM RAGE QUIT!!!CAUSE I MANAGED TO LUCK OUT WITH 180 COINS AND STOLE EVERYONES STARS WHILE HAVING 4 ALREADY ON MY PERSON!

My belly still hurts from laughing.

Truly this is a story to tell to the grandkids I’ll tell you that. I hope there are no hard feelings between the other players cause that was GLORIOUS!

Seriously if you are reading this I hope you 3 aren’t too butt hurt-kind of sad to finish the game without you guys there-it was fun. Hope you tell this story to someone to spread the laughs around. It’s all I’m good fun ;)
