I have a 100% cashmere sweater that I machine dried and totally shrank. It’s been in my fabric stash for a while now, and I want to make it into a super soft bralette. I’m a properly-measured 30D (when I buy bralettes I do S or XS depending on brand and fit) and I believe I have enough fabric to manage it.
I have made some basic wearables (shirts, skirts) and have fundamental skills, but I’m unsure of how to proceed, as the commercial ones I’ve been able to find for inspiration have some natural elastics woven into them.
Has anyone done this and have any tips to achieve it using 100% cashmere that is has no inherent support or structure? I’m not stoked on adding elastic bands, but I might have to and would be okay with it with a wider elastic at the bottom.
