My thoughts on Timothy/home stays

I absolutely get where Lucinda is coming from and her frustration at Timothy’s rejection of her, but fundamentally I think she’s missed the point being upset that he spent time with someone other than her after saying he wanted time and space. He clearly wanted time and space from Lucinda but I don’t see that as a bad thing, I think it goes to the heart of him saying he can’t talk about feelings anymore and was drained by it, and Lucinda bless her didn’t realise that her response to him not wanting to talk feelings was to talk feelings lol, in her effort to understand where he’s coming from she was unknowingly bringing more feelings conversation at him. My guess is the person he ended up spending time with was someone who could focus on something else for a bit and give him a reprieve from feelings talk for a while. I also reckon if she had of switched tactics and gone back to silliness and fun he’d probably be more receptive to those feelings conversations later. But the picnic as well intended as is was, was actually more of what he didn’t have capacity to do. They do the feelings stuff well but also had a lot more balance and light/fun/silliness and that seemed to play a part in his comfort and one of their strengths. It’s not to say they shouldn’t have addressed his disappearance and how it impacted her but for someone who’s not used to feelings talks timing and balance is important
