Empire Ants - Gorillaz
Post Body
Oh joy's arise
The sun has come again to hold you
Sailing out the doldrums of the moving
The polyphonic prayer is here, it's all around you
It's all around you, out here
And if the whole world is crashing down
Fall through space out of mind again
Where the emptiness we leave behind on warm air rising
Lose all the shadows far away
The falling alcohol empire, is here to hold you
Ruling out and haunted till it sinks
Little memories, marching on
Your little feet, working the machine
Will it spin, will it sore
My little dream, working the machine
Soothe like a wave
In plastic fall
Closing in on the moon
From where we are
Little memories
Your little feet, working the machine
Will it spin, will it sore
My little dream, working the machine
Soothe like a wave
In plastic fall
Closing in on the moon
From where we are
This song Always calms me down when I'm angry or sad. The tone of the music and the feel of the song are just relaxing. I think, overall, the song is about being crushed by the world but having your memories and goals to power your dreams.

Even though the world can be tough and your individual life may seem insignificant, it's the goals, dreams and hard work of all the "ants" that keep our world turning. I also never realized that he says "alcohol empire", I guess this probably suggests that we use alcohol and other drugs to temporarily escape from the hardships and monotony of our lives.
