Does anyone know what the long-term effects of Lyme are? NOT chronic Lyme, but just lifelong aftereffects? (27F)
Post Body

Hi all,

I got Lyme disease when I was 7 or 8. My mom believes I was diagnosed 6 months after the bite, and I went through treatment, and I got better. I'm 27 now. However, I've since always struggled with low energy. I had some energy in college thankfully, so I wonder how much of it is depression-related, because I've struggled with depression before and after college, though college was a nice respite. Not sure if Lyme could affect mental health in that way.

I'm just curious about the long-term effects of Lyme, but not about chronic Lyme. I don't think I have that. Out of curiosity, I was tested for Lyme again recently, and the results came back negative--I definitely don't have it anymore. I think the treatment was successful. I'm just wondering if, even if you recover, what the long-term effects are. Most of what I find online is about chronic Lyme, but I just want to know about long-term effects even after you've recovered. If anyone has any information or resources for that, I'd be most grateful.
