So I went to an outpatient clinic simply to get a referral for an infectious disease specialist. I told the nurse how I got Lyme as a child and feel like it has flared up, I never mentioned the word chronic. She asked me a few questions, did the typical look into my eyes and throat.. but one thing she did was some sort of resistance test that was new to me. Like she had me hold out my hands and was told to resist her pushing down on them. Same with my feet and other parts of my body. I'm not a relaxed kind of person and she told me to relax my arms so she could move them around. I guess I wasn't relaxed enough cause she had to tell me again and I was said "that is me being relaxed" and she responded with an 'oh'.
Afterwards, she said she was going to write me a referral for an infectious disease specialist to get checked for chronic Lyme. Not gonna lie, when it was her bringing up the chronic aspect of it, felt some mental relief of sorts.
Still waiting for the referral to go through, but I was curious as to what the resistance test thing was all about? Anyone have any ideas?
