Possible Lyme infection
Post Body

So I think I may possibly have gotten lymes disease. Two and a half weeks ago, my fiancee and I went out hiking through some pretty rugged woods. We live in Minnesota so lymes is relatively common here. We pulled multiple deer ticks off of ourselves throughout our hike. When we got home, we did another check and I pulled 5 off me that had embedded. What I am worried is that we may have missed a nymph somewhere as quite a few of the ticks pulled off were very small.

About a week ago I woke up feeling unusually sore, mostly in my back. It had went away within an hour or two of being awake so I just figured I slept poorly. The next day was the same. Sore upon waking, then disappearing within a few hours. Then in the middle of the day I got hit suddenly with an intense wave of fatigue and soreness. This time it was in my legs and mostly concentrated in my knees. The pain and fatigue lasted all day, and in the evening I felt slightly blah out of it, but nothing too worrying to me. I also had a slight headache.

I woke up the next morning feeling completely fine. I felt normal for 3 or 4 days but today it has hit me again. Woke up quite sore. It has definitely lessened throughout the day and I am feeling it almost entirely in my legs, again concentrated in my knees mostly. I feel more tired than usual and I have a bit of a headache.

I have been doing a ton of research online and I just don't know what to think. Aside from being sore and the occasional slight headache, I have no other symptoms. Never got a rash and I have no fever. That and the symptoms I do have seem varied in intensity and are also sporadic.

My biggest issue is that I currently do not have health insurance and can't really afford all the testing that may need to be done. I have a 7 day course of doxycycline from about a year back, though I know most courses for lymes last a bit longer. I also have available a 7 day course of doxycycline monohydrate that has a refill available as well. Though I'm not sure if the monohydrate is suitable for lymes but it seems they are both equally effective.

What should I do?
