Dilemma with Doxy
Post Body

40yr old male here. Had three weeks of nausea, headaches, loss of appetite, painful elbow joints, fatigue, and overall weakness (this was the worst) doctor considered lymes and put me on 3-4 weeks of doxycycline depending on how i feel. By day 4 i had a considerable change in weakness, definitely felt better with more energy and appetite was slowly coming back. I made it 5 days but my main concern is it give me awful ED. Like extreme, and no morning (sleeping) erections. Started day two and got worse to the 5th day. Also a depression feeling and libido decrease.

Doctor said he had never heard of this but was willing to change to amoxicillin. Today was first day of amoxicillin and it definitely doesnโ€™t hit as hard. Still ok but some symptoms feel they might be coming back. To early to tell though i am sure. So here is the question. Do you guys stick out the 3-4 weeks and hope everything comes back when you get off the meds? Or do i switch for maybe a less powerful one? I really want to feel better as this was a nightmare, sick almost everyday for three weeks and it actually played a part in the end of a relationship with a woman i really really liked. My concern is that i have read a few (not many) people that ended up with almost a PSSD symptoms from doxy, scary to me since i already struggle with ED from other causes but this made it worse! Any experience or info would be great! Also consider that i am already on hormone therapy so things like testosterone, estrogen, and thyroid are all in check and bloodwork done every three months. Thanks in advance!!
