Combat antibiotic resistance with p glycoprotein inhibiton
Post Body

I’m not gonna try to take credit for this idea I found it on another site that is a forum for treating bartonella. So basically the short synopsis of the postings on this topic basically talks about efflux pumps leading to cellular resistance in cancer cells. This connection can be made between the resistance you see in treatment for cancer as the malignant cells also upregulate p glycoprotein in response to doxycycline treatment.

This isn’t a coincidence anecdotally many people on this thread have made comments about doxycycline making them worse, or being inferior to other treatments. I’ve also found a study showing doxycycline increased bacteria over baseline in a dose dependent manner.

So we have efflux pumps in cells that act as a channel protecting cells from environmental stressors, well bacteria have the exact same pumps as human cancer cells p glycoprotein.

“P-glycoprotein, the most extensively studied ATP-binding cassette (ABC) transporter, functions as a biological barrier by extruding toxins and xenobiotics out of cells. In vitro and in vivo studies have demonstrated that P-glycoprotein plays a significant role in drug absorption and disposition.”

Now we can take advantage of this multi drug resistance efflux pump to make antibiotics work again, and because this has been studied more extensively because of various pathologies compounds exist to inhibit its function.

Solamargine, a bioactive steroidal alkaloid isolated from Solanum aculeastrum induces non-selective cytotoxicity and P-glycoprotein inhibition”

It also readily crosses through the cell membrane;

“ Since steroidal alkaloids are small compounds, which possess a nitrogen atom and have a planar structure, they diffuse rapidly into cells.”

This compound is able to be applied as a topical and purchased cheaply. I’ve started to use it myself, and I’m getting a reaction that indicates herxing for me. This was after a plateau period I’ve had. Im using the brand EAU eggplant salve which is a tincture extract that includes solamargine.

I'm a biochemist and this guy is full of shit, total psuedoscience bullshit do not believe a word this guy says, he is not qualified and very obviously lacks any knowledge whatsoever into even secondary level biology let alone tertiary level immunology. Please report this guy and do not follow the links and always follow your physicians advice.
