I had a rider destroy the backseat of my car. Dumped an entire two liter of Diet Coke, there was like an inch of coke just sitting in my backseat. I didn’t have a towel or anything in my car, so I had to drive around to find paper towels, but by the time I finally found some, it had soaked into the seat and was impossible to clean myself.
To get it cleaned professionally, it’s going to cost me almost $100. I can’t even let someone ride in my backseat because it’s too sticky and it looks disgusting.
I reported it to Lyft less than 20 minutes after it happened and they told me it would take 24 hours to get the pay out.
They finally emailed me back, after FOUR DAYS, and told me they will only be giving me $20. TWENTY DOLLARS?? My backseat is destroyed, I can’t drive anyone until it’s clean, I’ve lost almost a week of wages and they think $20 is sufficient? I am livid. I will be filing a lawsuit tomorrow, I don’t know if much will come of it, but the way I figure it, they should at LEAST cover the cost of damage and they aren’t even doing that. This is my only job currently and I can’t pay my bills because of this.
If you’re a rider who uses Lyft, don’t bring food or drinks into peoples car. It’s not your car. Respect the vehicle you’re in, for some of us it’s the only work we can get right now.
Put no food no drinks in bio. I’m going to after reading that!!
