I’ve had the most frustrating time with Lyft customer service about this.
I called a ride, the driver arrived nearby but at the wrong spot down the street too far to walk. I messaged the driver and called twice to see if he’d come to where my pickup location was set, but he never answered and declined my calls. I didn’t want to be the one to cancel and eat the $5 fee, so I waited for him to cancel since he wasn’t moving.
He never canceled the ride and manipulated his gps to make it look like he drove all the way to my end location in under a minute, even though this ride takes about 20 mins to complete. I was charged $25 for this ride that never happened. I have time stamped screenshots and other proof that I provided to Lyft, but they said that the ride was completed, so there’s nothing they can do.
I don’t know if I can dispute this with my bank because I took a few rides within a day or two, so they were all charged together as one on my card. So only about 1/3 of the card charge is fraud.
Needless to say I’m never using Lyft again but does anyone have a similar experience and/or any ideas for successfully getting a refund?
Tons of theft by deception occur within Lyft sadly
