What the hell is going on with all these people getting in my car and not even acknowledging my "hello", or "how's your day going", or whining about confirming their name and destination?
This happens much too often with people of all ages, not just young people, and the older you are the more disrespectful it feels.
If you have your earbuds in, take them off for a few seconds and acknowledge your driver.
If you're on the phone or talking to another person, stop for literally 5 seconds and acknowledge your driver.
If you're having a bad day and don't want to talk, tough shit. You're getting in my personal vehicle and I don't want to drive some psycho that might try to strangle me at the next red light.
It's not just common courtesy. It's a safety issue, especially with those of you creepers that sit behind the driver late at night and don't say a word.
Trust me. I don't want to be your friend. I don't even want to have a conversation with you. I'd much rather focus on the road.
But if you don't have the basic social skills to even acknowledge someone when they say hello as you're getting in their personal vehicle, you can start walking. I don't want you in my car.
They always acknowledge me, because I say their name, destinations, and please buckle up, if they didn’t reply to the first or second, I certainly will the buckle up because I will not move my vehicle until they do. And believe me this goes beyond just on the road safety from other vehicles and accidents. Someone who is holding any kind of weapon is much less likely to gain access to the driver simply because of the restraint of the vehicle. This is just my two. Cents.
