I went to use Lyft to take care of some business, and when I went to enter the address, instead of taking me to the usual awaiting a ride screen, I was greeted with a phone number request.
In a hurry, I typed in the my number and awaited the usual verification, only to be unpleasantly surprised by the number that they gave me was not valid.
No matter how many times I try, I am given the same "please enter a valid code" response.
This is extremely frustrating, is there any reason why Lyft needs my phone number to function when it hadn't for years and is there any way to swiftly resolve this issue?
I've tried updating, force stopping, nothing
EDIT: If you somehow get into contact with their text support and they ask you to uninstall the app, DON'T. The same faulty verification is what they'll use to get you back into your account once you reinstall, and so you'll be locked out of your account smh.
EDIT2: Got back into account and received info that Lyft engineers are on it! Hopefully that means all issues are resolved now🙏
EDIT3: received message that everything is working now, and everything is indeed working. There seems to be a new policy enforcement update, to protect drivers from having to wait too long
Today might be the 1st day of the new ceo? What cities are you in? Check for network outages too
