Finish crack? Repair or refinish?

Found these cracks on both sides of the neck pocket on my MIM Tele. Should I attempt to repair them or fully refinish it? I will be disassembling it soon regardless for new pickups, neck, pickguard, bridge, etc.
If I were to refinish it, I'd be going for a Transparent butterscotch color if anyone can give advice on how to achieve that
