Advice for Makeshift Pickup Mounting on Acoustic Guitar?
Post Body

I bought this old acoustic the other day. Pretty nice sound. Got a deal on it -Only thing is, it has no pickup or electronics in it whatsoever... I've got some old electric guitar pickups laying around from the years (a bunch of different humbuckers), and I'd like to mess around with mounting them on there somehow. I'm confident doing all my own soldering, and have been doing all the electronics for my electrics over the years, but this is kind of a different, more "structural" thing that I'm now really used to...

I was thinking I could make something like out of a butter lid or piece of plastic that could kinda slip onto the sound hole and I could cut a place out for the pickups?? Maybe put an end pen jack in there?? -Something so I could swap the different ones out and experiment easily... I realize this is sounding pretty ghetto to ya'll... haha! And I'm sure blocking the sound hole would affect the way it performs acoustically, so yeah... not sure what I'm gonna do...

Also -there is no strap pin on the base of the neck, so I'd have to attach the strap to the headstock with a string, I guess?? I'd like to avoid drilling any holes, if I can...

This is all just a little experiment.

Thanks for indulging!

Hopefully some of that made sense...

I've seen some beautiful, unique stuff on this page! Keep up the great work, ya'll!
