Long term sides
Post Body

Hello all, my situation is interesting. I know this is a smaller group but hoping to get some input. I have been on lunesta 3mg for 10 years… yes 10 years, my doctor never told me it wasn’t great long term but here we are, he just kept refilling and I kept taking.

So a little over a year ago I started getting sick. One thing that was most concerning was bladder pain and urinary issues. I have had these issues ever since. Sometimes better some times worse. I have been on and off meds that we’re supposed to help but really didn’t do much. Also treated for infections with multiple courses of antibiotics even though there really was no positive cultures for bacteria.

Now i go back and look at my medications. As i search the mayo clinic website and side effects of lunesta, i see this listed as a possible side. Not sure what to think. No doctors believe it’s connected but sometimes i wonder how much they know. I have started a slow taper to come off lunesta but no change yet. I am now on 2mg. We are going down 1mg every three weeks.

Thanks for listening!
