So I wasn't planning on having a lucid dream last night, I hadn't even thought about lucid dreaming for at least a month before hand, but for some reason I woke up randomly after 6 hours of sleep, and I got up for like half an hour before going back to sleep. I still wasn't thinking about lucid dreaming, but I basically did WILD prep so I had some very vivid dreams. Funny thing is I don't actually remember that much about the dream I had, but I remember an old macintosh computer being involved, and then later counting 4 false awakenings since that point in the dream with the computer. I didn't realize I was dreaming until a bit after this, and I more or less immediately woke myself up and forgot most of what the dream was about. But since I've gotten into the habit of not moving when I wake up, I knew I could pull myself back into it with DEILD even though I forgot what it was called at the time. I've tried this technique before, but this was the first time it was really successful. Honestly, the most memorable part of this experience was the process of attaining lucidity. I recall a few intermittent bursts of very loud static, accompanied with random pulsating imagery and a feeling that my arms were being moved by some external force in a wave pattern, sort of like a flag in the wind in slow motion. Anyway since this was unplanned I totally forgot that you had to stabilize the dream, but I was still able to stay lucid for like 30ish seconds anyway. In that time I found myself in a strange blue area, I decided to walk around and see what my mind comes up with, around a 45 degree corner there was another section of the 'room' that was black and shadowy, and then around another 45 there was a dimly lit space with a counter with my mother behind it, I said hello to her, she handed me a cube and I woke up a few seconds later. Unfortunately the strange detail of this space is hard to convey in words, but this at least captures the general sense of the area.
