I lucid dream every night, and I never knew what it was.

Okay so I don’t know how to start this off. Except I never heard of lucid dreaming. So Parden my rambling but I’m watching a horror tv show when they talked about lucid dreaming. Explaining what it was and I paused it and immediately googled lucid dreaming. For as long as I can remember I’ve only ever been able to control my dreams. they’d be so real. I’d wake up and swear it had happened. I control what people say, do, react in all my dreams. Sometimes I’d wake up with the taste of the food I’d just ate even. I didn’t know there was a name for it until now.

My boyfriend and I are talking about it, and I was telling him growing up I’d try and talk to my friends about it and they’d have no idea what I was talking about. So I always chalked it up to I was just weird. But knowing this now, I’m wondering if it’s why I don’t fall into a deep sleep and I’m always tired during the day. Or like this morning I woke up and swore I didn’t sleep and I just was daydreaming laying in bed. Not actually knowing 8 hours had passed. Maybe because it was so vivid but I was controlling every second of it.

Sometimes I have more then one of those dreams a night. It’s like I jump from one reality to another. I’m wondering if this is also contributing to my daily anxiety and stress. I have a sleep study coming up so hopefully I’ll find out something. So I don’t know I guess I’m asking is this normal? Having them every night? This is so new to me I’m just mind blown.
