Does shooting down dropships even help?

Post Body

I swear anytime some Quasar cannon user shoots down a dropship all it does is let some Devastator shoot THROUGH the wreckage at me until the dropship finally despawns.

The enemies are still there, it’s just now they can’t die because they have an armored shell over them.

And god forbid there be any samples under there, can’t get to it until it melts into the ground.

Does it actually help or are people just doing it because ship go boom?

Comments

Yes, troops are definitely lost. The drop ship falling will often kill those on the ground who were launched. I think sometimes thats how they units get "caught" which while a pita are usually not a big enough pain to nullify the drop ship being shot down.
