At the start of the game I thought the economy was kinda busted. Too little payout and too many things to buy.
Then as I do more of the side stuff and especially hacking the access points, I got too much money to spend on. This is mostly because I only stuck with the starting region with Regina constantly on my ear and didn't progress much with the main story.
But after playing a little more of the main missions, boom, more powerful cyberware popped up and a hell lot expensive. Crash my 70k to just 10k with only three purchases.
I think it struck a rather good balance. You get money fast if you know where to look, and you lose them fast to get a moderately significant upgrade. Cycle repeats, always got something to look forward to. Not too shabby compared to Witcher 3.
