I was talking to my roomate about this because a lot of people think of him differently and I’ve seen it heavily in how he is depicted in artwork.
I’ve always thought of him as the most versatile cosmic horror we see in the Lovecraft world. My roomate sees him as more of a creature mimicking humans and using people as puppets for his own whims. But idk in his first self titled it obviously feels more human in his wants but in dream quest it’s very much more this creature of the cosmos that was duty’s on earth but has deeper plans and creations then just world domination
