This may be the case for a lot of people, but he is so incredibly self-centered when it comes to relationships! Even when he was explaining everything he loved about Chelsea before he proposed, he went on and on about how she makes him feel and what she does for him and how she painted an amazing picture of life for him (like I found it crazy he didn’t even say “for us”??) yet doesn’t list one quality that he likes about her as a person that doesn’t also reflect on/directly benefit him.

Chelsea clearly has some deep-seated insecurity issues, but she’s right to feel that Jimmy isn’t very validating because he isn’t. It seems like he’s focused on convincing everyone—including himself— that he didn’t make the wrong decision when he truly isn’t that into Chelsea after all. His behavior at the beach (re: AD) and then the blatant gaslighting about it after was so alarming… I just keep wondering how Chelsea felt when she saw he slipped up and said “that’s what I love about Jess—“ on national TV before correcting himself to Chelsea. I hope they address that at the reunion.
