I’m newly divorced and have 50/50 custody of my 2 children (9 & 14) this week while teaching theml to play MTG (have played for years) they asked and showed interest in spending some of their time with me playing DND. Only problem, I have never played and had no idea where to begin. I bought the DND essentials kit (dragon of icespire peak pack) this weekend while they are with me and I plan to DM while they play character roles. Only problem is , this all seems very overwhelming. I read introductory book for DM’s and get the idea, but flipping through the rule book, I’m a bit at a loss where to start. We are going to begin character building today but was wondering if anyone had any insight or tips for me as I just want to make this as fun and exciting for my kids as possible. Any help would be greatly appreciated!!
