As a remote worker for a company with offices in major cities throughout North America, my co-workers are astonished that I can't get inexpensive, non-stop, direct flights to their cities whenever I want. I have a couple options each day, but they get booked fast and are crazy expensive.
Point in case: Raleigh-Durham is a major technology hub of the east coast. We are JUST NOW getting our first direct flight there, on Breeze, and it's only seasonal. What a joke.
IMO if Muhammad Ali "International" Airport can't find ways to add more direct flights to major cities, we're going to continue to struggle to attract top businesses and talent here.
Edit: Damn y'all salty. Nothing but love for the haters, though. Hope that works out for you.
SDF will never be a highly utilized airport for anything but Big Brown.
Louisville has been a third tier regional city since WWII. It will never boom. It will always be on the verge of rust-belt obsolescence.
Somewhere has to be the loser in the region, smaller and with less economy, sports and culture than its neighbors - well thatโs Louisville.
