Recommendation for a hair stylist?
Post Body

My middle schooler (tween-age) wants to get her hair dyed. We have tried before in the past and had 2 different outcomes.

Outcome #1: we scheduled with a local hair stylist who said she could dye her hair blonde. When we went in for the appointment, the stylist refused to dye her whole head and instead would only do highlights. I'm not sure exactly why and I was trying to manage my emotions about the situation and didn't inquire about it. I know my child wanted platinum blonde and she is young, but I don't have accurate information on why she was refused the service we booked, only my guesses.

Outcome #2: we dyed her hair at home with a box kit. It turned out well enough but still not platinum. She was content but not super excited since it still had a little bit of light caramel color to it. However, as it grew out, it grew into an ombre effect that she liked a lot and made her super easy to find in a crowd.

She is now asking again about getting her hair dyed this summer. She mentioned that she doesn't want to go all the way to her head (I'm guessing to replicate the beginning of the ombre she ended up with from the previous attempt). I'm not sure if she wants to try again to go as light as platinum for the tips. I will definitely discuss that with her before we book a service.

Does anyone here have a recommendation for a stylist that will dye her hair properly? She would likely need time for a test strip as well as the time for the rest of her color. She's starting off light brunette with a little bit of wave to her hair (not curly or flat-iron straight) for the majority of her hair, but the tips have the remainder of the box color from... 2(?) summers ago. It could be trimmed off if it reacted poorly to the test. And I'd like to minimize the chances of going to someone else who would refuse services upon arrival. Her hair doesn't have any big issues that I am aware of. It's long and well-maintained.

Sorry for the long explanation. I'm kind of hoping a stylist reads this and is willing to share their insight and/or book her appointment.
