Do scratch off vending machines have lower chances of winning?

I’ve noticed that when I buy scratch offs from the vending machines (at least in IL) I barely win vs buying from gas stations. Do these have lower odds.
Also I’ve noticed that big winners are usually in the suburbs or higher class areas…is it common that low income areas are mostly losing tickets? It would make since because low income areas pour the most money into the lottery for a chance to make it big. It would Be better to keep them losing. But hey I may be wrong.
