Honestly I like the haircut in this case but the glasses are just dumb.

Black-Red-Green are the colors of the Palestinian flag and a bunch of places set the actual flag to autofilter within a couple days after the war began.

The historical ones. It's not equivalent (not least of all since the overton window is usually moving left) but the same overall pattern of justification.

The Palestine support seems pretty ubiquitous and socially acceptable for some reason.

Mentioned reasons aside: Colorism. Hamas are darker than the IDF so that in and of itself is considered a reason to support them. Plus, well. Israel is heavily supported by the Christian Right and the left abhors anything Christian.
Strange times, strange bedfellows.
Wish the PLO was still running things. They had some pretty smart people.

Same reason millenial right wingers support nazis. Hollywood. You can only do heroic underdog stories so often before people believe that the side with the disadvantage is automatically justified. The Anglosphere has boiled all nuance from its entertainment and decided to replace education with fiction which causes people to be raised on stories with the simplicity of a kindergarten fairy tale their whole formative years.
