From the Longmont City Manager:
Hello Everyone,
As you know, Public Safety Chief Mike Butler retired from the City this summer after a long and successful career. Since that time, I have appointed Rob Spendlow as acting Public Safety Chief as we work through the challenges that COVID has brought to Longmont. He has done a great job. Yet even though the pandemic continues, it is time that I recruit to permanently fill the position.
To that end, I have asked my staff to put together an involvement process asking our staff and community for their feedback on the skills, attributes and focus areas they find important in our next Chief. This information will be prepared for my consideration during the hiring process. I am attaching a link to a survey that I ask you to fill out.
I also ask that you send this survey out to your contacts and networks, as I am looking for wide diversity in thoughts and responses. After the survey closes, on January 10, we will look at areas that may need a deeper dive to understand the needs of the community. Upon completion of the community involvement process, I will determine the path I want to take in hiring the position.
Below is the link to the digital survey. Thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts.
