I have always had a natural desire to serve and support others, but have struggled to fully embrace it. I think I started to realize that I was different from other guys as early as middle school and didn’t understand why I was. I was always naturally more shy, deferential, non competitive, a people pleaser, and looked to other to tell me what to do. After this convo, I really tried hard to get her to see me romantically but she never did. That is when I started to realize I was a true beta.
