Want to play a paranoid, power hungry noble usurper? Want to play a game of cat and mouse where neither side can openly face the other without it causing all out war? Then I am looking for you!
My campaign is set in a medium sized newish kingdom, which emerged from a rebellion against an old empire. Much of its lands are vast plains and uncharted land, with an ever expanding frontier. Think a medieval version of the American Wild West. We are playing DnD 5th edition with five player characters all currently at level 10.
Information about the villain:
You are playing Issac Lockwyn, a powerful noble with a nasty combination of spite, hate, paranoia and cunning. You hold a great hatred for the current ruler, endless ambition for your own family and have years of obsessive planning on your side.
Your goal is to over throw the current queen by any means necessary and gain enough political support to take the throne itself, or failing that, declare your lands independent.
The players are up and coming adventures who have successfully helped the people of your land with many various problems and have on occasion come into conflict with your goals, but have so far stayed out of your hands. However, you see all adventurers as paid agents of the queen and know that they will eventually oppose you. You are nothing more than a simple noble, who could be easily killed by a party of powerful adventurers at anytime. However thanks to your political immunity, that is not an option they can take at the moment.
The goal of the campaign is to advance your goals, and stop the players from getting in your way. The players will be trying to dismantle your protections and schemes until they can finally strike. Neither side can directly engage the other, but must work against each other indirectly.
When and how do we communicate?
My game with the players is hosted every Sunday, 5pm-10/11pm GMT through discord. I will contact you either that same night or the Monday following to update you and ask for your next moves, also through discord. However, I can be contacted at any point within the week and should reply within the day!
What kind of resources am I working with? - A mass of wealth and silver - Allies within the nobility - A large army - An elite group of knights - A shadowy entity granting you otherworldly benefits.
What kind of opposition do I know of?
- The Queen and her loyal supporters
- Rivals within the nobility
- Adventurers, including the party
What weaknesses do I have? - A poor reputation - An overly cautious personality - Paranoia that keeps everyone at arms length
Ultimately, Iām looking for someone with a knack for planning and scheming, that can also work within roleplay constraints and play to a personality.
More details on all the above and more will be given once the right person for the job is found. Thanks for reading my request.
