I texted my ex- LDR boyfriend/Current friend today that I'm glad we ended things because today it hit me again how lonely I was when I was in an LDR with him. I've realised that an LDR was such a lonely path to take.
LDR only works if you genuinely want to close the distance, not float around like a normal relationship. LDR calls for early discussions of marriage. We don't have the privilege of going out for coffee etc and seeing how things goes. It's either marriage/break up. I know that's a blanket statement. You can get a work visa too but getting one is really really hard.
I wish that one day he can find a GF for himself and I can find a BF for myself, and that we will both be happy. As much as it hurts to say that, I know I am not the one for him. Our love could not beat the loneliness that distance brings. At the end of the day, I have come to accept the reality of our situation.
