This is me (right) and my wonderful SO. That picture is from our senior prom over two years ago, our first date.
She went to Auburn University in Alabama to take Pre Veterinary classes and I went to George Mason University in Virginia. We see each other on breaks and once or twice a semester when I fly down to visit. She makes straight As and is the most passionate and grounded individual I know, even if she doubts herself sometimes, and I could not be prouder of her.
We went into our relationship knowing it would be difficult, and in the beginning neither of us thought we would stay together after the first summer. But we did, and I have to say it was the best choice I've ever made.
Every day she makes my world amazing and beautiful. When you're long distance, it's so easy to take each other for granted, and although we've had our fights, and our sorrows, and our close calls, and our hopeless desperate times where we weren't sure we could make it work, we've pushed through and been better for it every time.
When I see her it's like falling in love all over again every time. Even after two years the spark is still there and there is truly nothing like it. It hasn't been easy-- it's the hardest thing I've ever done. But it is also the most rewarding, and I believe it always will be.
This long-winded post is for anyone who is doubting themselves, or their relationship, or their partner, or the distance between them. If you truly love each other, keep your head up. You can make it work. Even if all else fails, you will never regret following your heart.
