[22GF/21F] Advice for Coping with Long Term LDR

Post Body

This is part vent and part request for advice, honestly? Also, to clarify, GF in the title stands for Genderfluid. My partner (who I love very much) and I have been together for over six months now and have known each other for five years, but we've never been able to meet in person despite being in neighboring states. We're both college students, so finances and time are the main obstacle that we're working to change. For now, we video or voice call very frequently, and that's part of where my anxiety is coming in.

I'm afraid that I'm suffocating her or being too clingy because of my abandonment issues, so I was wondering if anyone else has advice for:

  • Feeling more secure in an LDR
  • Things that help when you and your partner can't spend time together for one reason or another
  • How to make sure my partner feels loved and supported

Any reassurance based on personal experience would also be greatly appreciated. I'm happy to answer any clarifying questions as needed!
