We're currently in the 2nd of a 6-8 year stint where she's studying abroad and I stay in Rio, the city where we met. We are in a 7 year relationship, open for 1.5 years. She's starting a PhD in the US in August. Since October, we saw each other 4 days in November, a week during Holidays, and 10 days in March. But we text basically all day and we face time each other all day we don't have anything at night.

Lots of stuff happened since she left. I spent 18 months sharing a condo with two friends (she spent time there with me when she visited here, but it just isn't the same thing). When I visited her in NYC, I stayed with her in the condo she shares, but it isn't the same thing either.

This time, I'm living alone in an apartment just for myself, and the half day we spent together today was so great, I am so happy. It's like any of the three years we spent living together. It's like she never left. The only difference is that we had sex twice, and it's not even evening yet, but that's a great difference.

Lots of skepticism of people with regards our long distance relationship, and the decision to open it, but we are being successful so far.

I also presented her with a bdsm collar today which she loved.
