(M40s) Was married 23 yrs and now in a LDR for the last 3 years.
How do y’all cope with not having sex and touch?
I have a good group of friends I do regular activities with, but I still feel lonely. I had a female friend I would snuggle with while watch movies, and that actually helped, but I stopped doing it as to not cause hurt feelings for my girlfriend.
Tantra energy work and the hope of exploring an open relationship got me through the first couple years. But now that hope is gone and energy work increases my aliveness and makes me horny, which only makes it harder.
I’m now trying to shut down my sexual desire, but I’ve noticed that leaves me feeling depressed and unmotivated. I don’t feel like the same man my gf fell in love with.
Update: Yes, I’ve had extensive conversations with my GF about all of this, including the consideration of an open relationship; which isn’t going to happen. I’m just wondering if others have found things that made it easier.
