Not normally one for posting about things like this, but feel like I have to write it down somewhere. Considering what it's about, this is probably a rather good place to do so.
On the 4th of October, I got a chat request, here on Reddit. Responded to it, but didn't think she'd get back to me, as this is the experience I've had many times over in the past. Luckily, I was wrong, as she'd get back to me one and a half day later. Since then, we've written and talked daily. Not a day has passed where we haven't said anything or had at least a short (Discord) call (or voice message). Gotten to know each other better and well, on the 13th of October, we decided to go for it, become a couple and see where it takes us.
Might still be in the honeymoon period, but it's been so incredibly amazing all throughout this time. Didn't take long either, for us to decide that we wanted to meet as soon as it's possible. At first, it was planned for December, shortly before the holidays. But in the end, we made a mutual decision to go for 8th of January to 21st of January (today, as I'm writing this). Begin the year on a high note, in other words.
This morning, I dropped her off at the train station. Two weeks have passed so insanely fast. Couldn't have asked for a better start to 2024 though, having met such a caring and loving person as she is. We're trying to see it as this being her temporarily going home to visit family. In a way, I guess it's accurate.
Been absolutely perfect, the things we've done. Even though there were more things we had liked to do, such as exploring both my city and the neighboring city, but due to snow storm and such, that was not possible. Next time. Same with us wanting to read books together.
Instead, we spent the days playing through Horizon: Forbidden West, starting on A Plague Tale: Requiem, watching Love is Blind Sweden and 90 Day Fiancé, watching The Super Mario Bros. Movie and 12 Angry Men, going to an ice hockey game (her first experience with the game ever) and meeting my parents (and their dogs), and overall, getting to know each other even better.
Now, that I got home from the train station, I saw that she had left me a plush koala (I call her my koala), one of those silicone bracelets (this one says Estonia on it, as that's where she's from), and notes about how much she loves me, thinks I'm an amazing person, and can't wait to be back with me.
Can't believe I got to meet such an amazing woman and person. Me of all people on this spinning ball. But... this is not the end, it's the beginning. The beginning of something long lasting and beautiful.
Thank you for reading!
