G29 pedals not working

I'm hoping someone can help, I just got a second hand G29 wheel and pedals which I saw working fine. When I've gotten home and connected it to my PC the accelerator flickers and reads about 10% input with none being given and the brake pedal doesn't read at all. I've taken the pedals apart and cleared the potentiometer but that hasn't worked. Any advice?
