Iām seeing a lot of people talk bad about the album so far. You claim itās criticism but yet you use words like āsucksā and āhateā. Thatās opinion. Not criticizing. Criticism is done from an outside or professional view. That said, thatās not my point.
This album is UP meets BT. Just not in the way people thought it would. Let me explain.
So, it starts off with the title track where Bobby raps about the struggles that social media puts on not only the general public, but himself as well. We go a few tracks farther and get to āclickbaitā. This is where it gets interesting. The perspective then changes from here. Every song from here until āKeanu Reevesā is from the viewpoint of Bobby if he had become too consumed in his social media image. Sure, he still raps about PLP and accepting yourself, but those messages take a backseat to lyrics you would expect to hear from rappers nowadays. Remember how everyone complained that Logic was ātoo preachyā on Everybody? Well, hereās Bobby doing a lot less preaching. Why all the hate? Bobbyās viewpoint throughout this album is basically satire. Heās the rap equivalent to the Dead Kennedys. He takes what others in the rap game do, and make fun of it while also partially embracing it. Logic starts and ends the album, while Bobby Tarantino takes over throughout the middle.
I love this album. I think itās one of his best projects. But, Iām not just gonna fanboy and say thereās nothing wrong with it. There are small things in some songs Iām not huge about. But, he still gave us UP meets BT. Just not in the way everyone was hoping.
