POV: its 2020 and logic announced his retirement and dropped his final album.

its amazing, the production is spectacular, there’s dad bars, there’s an amazing choir of a send off. its deep, its emotional and it’s amazing. it feels like a perfect movie ending. your fav rapper (or one of your most enjoyable artists) goes out on top, amazing first week sales.

he returns with a super lowkey MF Doom inspired persona that you really fw, its boombap and hints towards a future of bars, beats and battlestar galactica.

this bittersweet moment passes shortly over a year because Logic is returning he drops a mediocre project of throwaway songs to escape his Def Jam hell.

he follows this up with vinyl days. an album all sample based showing an inspirational logic who is hungry, and approaching a peak form of production. he himself is enjoying his career because it is now his career.

people are mixed, they have BT3 and Vinyl Days, two drastically different sides of logic but both have great production on them.

forwarding to this release of College Park almost a year later.

as an avid logic fan for years, mixtape/faze days.

this is the most fun i’ve had with a Logic album since probably UP/TITS.

this concept of pre-famous logic is not only an amazing concept, its executed perfectly.

this follows the logic formula to perfection imo, the production is peak, it’s not repetitive, its fresh, its boombap with his own twist, the lyrics aren’t repeated throwaway bars from previous projects with different variations on each different quote.

No Pressure was a fun experience because it was a send off and its nostalgic to not only quarantine times but also a feel good moment for someone who deserves it. but honestly it doesnt hold a candle to this project at all imo.

this blends all of Logics skills, Skits that are fluid and arent tiresome, entertaining but not corny, cohesive, the prodcution feels like he’s hungry, same with the lyrics, it has some great callbacks to his now career that he discusses in the skits, the features are great, Rattpack everywhere, its a future cult-classic, and.. it has Seth MacFarlane fucking singing his heart out in a classy frank sinatra ballroom suit vibe it has blends of previous projects perfected, the soft rock vibe he tried nailing on Supermarket feels perfectly placed on this album, its blended well where it goes from alternate indie vibe to soft boom bap rap.

honestly this album is WAY more fun than vinyl days and feels like a great callback to long lasting logic fans, and for new logic fans to enjoy what made us long lasting fans enjoy what logic once was and now is again.

this album cracks top 3 for me. i’ll give it more time but its definetly heading to that direction.
