crazed rant, i hate it when customers say "is it garunteed to work?" when i make them a key. no! its not! unless i have the lock here, and can test it, i can only be 98.5% sure if it's something common like an sc1, and between 50% and 75% if its some no name wafer lock key. i'll try my absolute damndest to the best of my ability to make it work, but ultimately, when I keep my machines regularly calibrated, and use the correct blank, if it doesnt work, that may be on you! had a customer the other day with an m1. worst m1 i'd ever seen in my life, looked like someone ran over it ONCE way to fast in a duplicator. its a damned miracle that key even worked. low and behold, my copy didnt work, so he came back. i tried gauging his key with a micrometer, and code cutting it. didnt work either. i said look man, i've exhausted my options. bring in the padlock, and i'll see what i can do. i put the copy i made of his deformed mamed key in the lock, and gave it a little force, and LO AND FUCKING BEHOLD, that jawn turnt. call me a saint, because i performed a miracle that day. there really is only so much we can do, we're locksmiths, not wizards. i know they seem pretty similar on the surface, but i can assure you, if i could cast fireball on your ass, i totally would. theres only so much we can do, especially with limited information, so please for the love of god, this green earth, and everything that is beautiful and holy in this world, give us a break.
