Post Body
Old door with unit lock prep had a wrap plate slapped on with a Marks IQ. All the spacing was wrong and the latch was damaged. Replaced the wrap plate and chiseled it flush and installed a T2.

If you held the router against the edge of the door with a jig, you should be able to do it without any chiseling at all. Just like if you wanted to route out the latch plate or a hinge. Maybe a modified hinge routing jig would work? Or do it, then move it, repeat until you get the size you want.
