I posted this in the main LoL subreddit, but I felt like it should be posted here also, since Riot Damiya was a trans woman.

It's been posted in some other subreddits, but I haven't seen it posted on here yet. I'm not sure if the mods have been taking it down or not, or simply the fact that it hasn't been posted yet. If it has been posted, and the mods have been taking it down, then I'm sorry, and feel free to remove this.

In case you haven't heard by now, Rioter Damiya (Kate von Roeder) had a severe case of depression, and decided to end her life on October 1st. Her last words were in the form of a Facebook post that you can read here, if you choose to.

Kate was a trans woman, and I have heard from a few sources that lately, the flaming to her by OUR OWN LEAGUE COMMUNITY had been even more harsh, when she tried even opening up to them about her depression. It's quite saddening that the level of toxicity has reached these heights.

In closing, please request to keep her and her family and friends in your thoughts.
