Unival - the Spined Snail [CCC MAR2020 Entry]

Description

Primary Class: Warden

Secondary Class: Juggernaut

Lane Design Intent: Jungle

Appearance: His upper half is vaguely human, though his torso is softer, without clear muscle or bone definition. His flesh is pale, almost green, and shimmers slightly with slime. His eyes are stalks that come up where the ears should be on a human head, no nose though a wide, slimy, toothless mouth. His arms don't appear to have elbows or joints, being entirely flexible and able to compress and extend. His hands are human-like, though he is missing his pinkies and doesn't have nails. His lower half becomes slightly more green-tinted as it transitions into a snail's "foot". His shell on his back covers from just under his shoulders to a foot or two before the softly pointed end of his "foot". His "foot" wiggles rhythmically as he moves.

Summary: He is the last survivor of an ancient breed of Vastayan native to the Plague Arbor in Ixtal. Recent movements by Voidborn have pushed him out of his homeland, forcing him to fight or run. As he isn't very fast, he chose to fight.

Abilities

Passive: Gastropod - Slime Trail: Unival cannot buy boots. Whenever he moves, he leaves a Slime Trail behind him which lasts 45 - 120 seconds, scaling up with level. Whenever Unival moves over a Slime trail, his movement speed is increased by 20 - 115, scaling with level. Enemies who walk on slime are slowed by 1-18%, scaling with level.

Slimed enemies take double damage from being Contact Poisoned and are slowed by triple the Slime Trail slow (3-54% scaling with level). Slimed enemy champions leave a Slime Trail behind them. Slimed effects stack, adding their duration together. Tenacity reduces the duration of Slimed effects.

Psuedopods: Unival's arms are boneless and stretchy. Enemies who are Contact Poisoned or Slimed can be struck 25 - 100 units further than Unival's base attack range, scaling up at levels 6/11/16.

Q: Sling Slime - Unival grabs a glob of slime off his lower half and throws it, either striking a unit or splattering on the ground. If a unit is struck, they are Slimed for 2 seconds and take physical damage. If it splatters on the ground, it creates an area of Slime Trail, its cooldown is halved, and half its mana cost is refunded.

W: Spined Shell - Passive: Enemies that make melee attacks against Unival, or if their gameplay radius overlaps with Unival's, are Contact Poisoned for a short time. Contact Poisoned enemies take physical damage periodically.

Active1 - Withdraw: Unival withdraws into his shell, gaining damage reduction. Unival cannot move while Withdrawn, though can be pushed around by knockbacks, and can stay Withdrawn until Expose is cast. Unival's vision range is reduced while Withdrawn.

Active2 - Expose: Unival bursts out of his shell, dealing physical damage to enemies around him. Unival gains a quickly decaying movement speed boost.

E: Enzymatic Slime - Unival spews a cone of digestive slime, dealing magic damage to enemies struck. Enemies struck are Slimed for 2 seconds. This ability will execute monsters if they have 10% or less HP. Unival heals for a portion of the damage dealt.

R: Shellshock/Slime Bomb - Shellshock: If Withdrawn, Unival spins around, moving in a circle on the side of his shell, dealing 100/200/300 ( 0.6 AD) physical damage to enemies around him and applying Contact Poison to any enemy hit. Unival then Exposes himself automatically. This ability can only hit an enemy once.

He is spinning, but he is also moving in a small circle as he spins, like a top.

Slime Bomb: If Exposed, Unival leaps slightly into the air before slamming down, knocking back adjacent enemies and dealing physical damage. In a large area around him, enemies are Slimed for 3 seconds and the entire area is a Slime Trail. Unival then Withdraws himself automatically.
