Zavos, the Omnipresent
Post Body

Name: Zavos

Primary Role: Mage/Bruiser

Appearance/Personality: Zavos would appear as a well dressed man, with a cane and top hat. He would have a very sinister face, with bags under his eyes and a brooding look. He would have wicked things to say about people, and about what he'd like to 'test' on them. He would have a slight hunch, and his hands would be rubbed in a scheming manner in front of himself.

Sovaz, the clone, is that man, but bigger. Taller, wider, larger muscles, stronger bones, better senses. Unfortunately, the brain is still a delicate thing to clone, so Sovaz isn't very intelligent. He clocks in at the intelligence of an eight year old, but with the viciousness of a trained guard dog. Sufficient for the uses of Zavos.

They both possess a tentacle that grows out of Zavos's and Sovaz's left and right shoulder, respectively. Zavos's would be lime green, thin, and with the end wrapped around his cane. Sovaz's would be dark red, large, and coiled around a club. Zavos would make all of his auto attacks with his cane, with his crit being a downward stab. Sovaz would mostly use the club, but occasionally swing wildly with his fist. His crit would be a brutal downward smash with his club.

They would stand with both tentacles on the outside. Zavos would idly brush dirt off his outfit, while Sovaz would appear to see a bug of some sort and become interested in it before a light tap from Zavos.

Background: There are very brilliant minds in Zaun. Very brilliant, but very dark.

There is a man that lives in Zaun, by the name of Zavos. He is either a clever man, or a thuggish man, depending on the occasion.

There is a rumor that he is not the same man, but a clone of the man to represent him.

Obviously, if this is true, it is a monumentous scientific feat... But there are dire consequences.

What do you mean, consequences? It sounds like great news.

You forget one detail.

What?

He's from Zaun.

Oh... yea...

Well, why do you bring him up?

He intends to use this technology, in the League.

What for? Not on other champions.

Maybe not at first... But he certainly would like to, I presume.

Base Abilities:
Health: 350( 76)
Health Regen: 6.5( 0.45)
Range: 175(Melee)
Attack Damage: 49( 3.6)
Attack Speed: 0.625( 2.112%)
Armour: 19( 3)
Magic Resist: 30( 1.25)
Movement Speed: 325

Passive: Genetic Clone

Zavos's resource is Genetic Material. He starts with 0 Genetic Material. Each minion kill grants him 1 Genetic Material, large monsters grant 2 Genetic Material, and champions grant 5 Genetic Material. After being out of combat for 30 seconds, you start to lose 1 Genetic Material a second. Half is lost on death. Max 100 Genetic Material.

When Zavos exceeds max Genetic Material, Sovaz dies, exploding in a 350 unit radius. This does 40/60/80/100/120 ( 0.35% Ability Power) magical damage over 5 seconds. If Zavos or his allies are caught in the burst, they are healed for 40/60/80/100/120 ( 0.35% Ability Power) over 5 seconds.

Sovaz gains .5 AD for each AP Zavos has, and gains the same bonus Crit Chance, Attack Speed, and Movement Speed as Zavos. Sovaz also gains all on-hit modifiers Zavos has. Sovaz follows Zavos wherever he goes, unless commanded otherwise. If following Zavos, Sovaz will attack what he does. His abilities scale with Zavos's levels.

Sovaz Abilities:
Health: 414( 90)
Health Regen: 5.5( 0.45)
Range: 175(Melee)
Attack Damage: 54( 3.6)
Attack Speed: 0.625( 2.112%)
Armour: 19( 3)
Magic Resist: 30( 1.25)
Movement Speed: 325

Q: Crush Them!

Cooldown: 14/12/10/8/6 seconds

Range: 600

Radius: 175

Zavos commands Sovaz to leap to target location, dealing 60/100/140/180/220 ( 0.65% Ability Power) physical damage, and slowing targets hit by 60% for 1.5 seconds. He gains 1 Genetic Material for each Champion hit.

Sovaz stays there until Zavos either goes beyond 1000 units, or commanded to do otherwise. Sovaz will attack any enemy that passes by.

If Sovaz is dead, this allows Zavos to make a leap instead, but it does no damage, and doesn't slow. Genetic Material is still awarded for each Champion hit.

W: Grab Them!

Cooldown: 10 seconds

Range from Clone: 600

Zavos commands Sovaz to run and grab a nearby enemy and drag them to him, snaring them for 0.5/0.75/1/1.25/1.5 seconds and moving them towards Zavos. If he reaches Zavos, Sovaz starts attacking the target, releasing him.

Zavos can still cast spells and attack while Sovaz drags people to him. If Zavos commands Sovaz to leap to a location, the snared target is brought with him. Afterwards, Sovaz continues to follow Zavos, attacking whoever he attacks.

If Sovaz is dead, Zavos instead stabs forward 300 units with his cane, dealing auto-attack damage to all targets hit.

E: Genetic Enhancements

Duration: 8 seconds

Cooldown: 20/18/16/14/12 seconds

Zavos injects Sovaz with his gathered Genetic Material. Sovaz gains 20/30/40/50/60 Attack Damage, plus 1 Attack Damage for each Genetic Material lost. If 25 Genetic Material or more is lost, Sovaz gains 25% Damage Reduction for the duration. If 50 Genetic Material or more is lost, Sovaz gains 125 range (total 300) for the duration. If 75 Genetic Material or more is lost, Sovaz gains 75% Attack Speed for the duration. If 100 Genetic Material is lost, double the duration.

R: Final Presentation

Cooldown: 150/125/100 seconds

Duration: 10 seconds

Zavos allows his ultimate creation to shine, stepping away so Zavos can do his proper work. If Zavos is dead, only the passive applies, and the active cannot be activated.

Passive

Zavos and Sovaz gain a 15/30/45% increase to their movement speed and attack speed.

Active

Zavos becomes untargetable until the duration is up, or Sovaz dies. Sovaz gains 15/30/45 Armor and Magic Resist, and gains double attack range (350). You control Sovaz as you would Zavos, gaining new abilities.

Q: Smash!

Cooldown: 14/12/10/8/6 seconds

Range: 600

Radius: 175

Sovaz dashes to target location, bringing along anyone that gets caught in his arms. Any enemy hit takes 60/100/140/180/220 ( 0.65% Attack Damage) ( 0.25% Current Health per Genetic Material) physical damage, and is slowed for 60% for 2.5 seconds.

W: Dog Pile!

Cooldown: 10 seconds

Range: 600

Sovaz jumps on top of an enemy, leashing them for 0.75/1.25/1.75/2.25/2.75 seconds, preventing them from running outside 350 units away, and dealing 75/100/125/150/175 ( 0.2% Attack Damage) physical damage.

E: Self-Detonation

Burst Radius: 350

Sovaz detonates himself, causing himself to explode into a spray of genetic material. This does 40/60/80/100/120 ( 0.35% Ability Power)( 0.25% Current Health per Genetic Material) physical damage over 5 seconds. If Zavos or his allies are caught in the burst, they are healed for 40/60/80/100/120 ( 0.35% Ability Power)( 0.1% Max Health per Genetic Material) over 5 seconds.

Sovaz is destroyed when this ability is cast. Sovaz will respawn after 20 seconds.

Discussion:

General: So with the topic being clones, I didn't want to do the same old "Clone to get away" thing. I wanted an actual clone that would actually be connected to the main character in some way, and I think this works the best. Obviously, with the man being Zaunite, it's not exactly how you would like it to be. The clone is a heavily genetically-modified creature. I would intend for the clone to be coded to react as a minion would, so that Banner of Command is effective, and certain champions (Nunu Chomp, Voli fear, etc.) being more effective against him.

Passive: This is the real cornerstone of the character. This clearly defines how strong the clone is, and provides hefty counterplay throughout the rest of the kit. Building up a good amount of Genetic Material before a big fight can mean the difference between a win and a loss.

Q: This gives you a strong positioning and engagement tool with your clone. It lets you close distance swiftly, and allows you a strong zoning advantage. The slow is to provide the sort of soft CC that compliments this sort of ability, without pushing the power too high.

The Ultimate Q is just this move on steroids. Longer slow, and percent health damage scaling with Genetic material. Nice solid ability to start a teamfight, or win a lost teamfight.

W: This is his disruption ability. He sacrifices the damage of his clone to actually drag an enemy out of position. If you like, you can run toward Sovaz, to let you start the beatdown early, though that will break the snare. After there is no more fighting, Sovaz will follow Zavos again, running up to his spot next to him.

The Ultimate W is his way of really getting an advantage against an enemy. They would be trapped with him, and would be dragged along if he took off running.

E: This was changed to provide a temporary boost to Sovaz's abilities. Depending on the material gathered, you could easily make Sovaz's, temporarily, unstoppable.

I want the ability on the Ultimate E to stay the same, as the Ultimate gives its own boosts. This way, you still can provide that nice, large burst of damage, if you so choose.

R: This passively provides a nice steroid that keeps the pair mobile and quick, so that their damage will scale well into the late game. The active allows Zavos a moment of safety while his clone destroys stuff in the name of science.

Builds: Zavos would have many different build paths, depending on what you wanted to focus on. You could build him pure AP, AP bruiser, AD bruiser, AD assassin, or as a tank.

I would have his recommended items set up like this:

Starting: Doran's Ring, 2 Health Potions Essential: Nashor's Tooth, Trinity Force, Banner of Command Offensive: Abyssal Scepter, Rabadon's Deathcap, Lich Bane Defensive: Iceborn Gauntlet, Rod of Ages, Zhonya's Hourglass Consumables: Health Potion, Mana Potion, Sight Ward

Zavos "Knock knock." Sovaz "Who's there?" Zavos "A broken pencil." Sovaz "A broken pencil who?" Zavos "Nevermind... It's pointless."

Zavos "Go, destroy them, for science!" Sovaz "For science!"

On Death:

Zavos "How... Could this happen...?"

Sovaz/Zavos [General death gasping noises]

On Respawn:

Zavos "I return, enhanced."

Zavos "Time for the next test."

Sovaz "I'm back, dad!"

Sovaz "Did you miss me, dad?"

Notes:

I'm a day late for the contest. Oh well. Hope you like it. I think it's a unique take on the clone mechanic.

Also, if any of you would like to suggest a pair of champions discussing Zavos and Sovaz in his lore, I'm open-minded to all suggestions.

Changelog:

Edit1: Added a bit to the notes.

Edit2: Messed with his passive, and his E. New E and altered passive.
