Hi all 👋 Now that people are traveling again I wanted to know if I can finally send a package overseas through 우체국 and NOT through EMS.
So a while back (I believe around Christmas) I went to send my Dutch friend a small bubble mailer parcel and we had used the shipping price calculator on the 우채국 website was supposed to be about ₩10,700.
However the cashier said because of Omicron they stopped any overseas shipping(except for countries on some kind of affirmation list?) and you had to use EMS instead which was ₩33,000!!
My parcel were earrings I crocheted in the smallest bubble mailer I could find.... I was NOT about to pay ₩33,000 and was gonna wait it out but even in February they still said I had to use EMS.
Luckily my Dutch friend had a friend in Germany who was willing to receive the package and then mail it to my friend and the shipping was ₩3,000... 💀
I want to send my family some gifts for Christmas but they live in the US(sadly not on the affiliation list ☹️) so I wanted to know now that travel has opened back up if I can send using 우체국. Also the closet 우체국 is a 30min walk away(no bus route) and we don't have a car hence why I'm asking here 😅
