As a foreigner living in Korea, do I need a business license (사업자 등록증) if I'm selling handmade items online and the profits are in USD and go to my US bank account?

Post Body

Hi all! I am a US citizen currently living in Busan, South Korea. I am a 주부 (unemployed housewife) and wanted to again start selling my hand crochet items and digital crochet patterns online.

I do know that if I want to sell on sites like Idus or open a Naver Smart store I would need to register for a 사업자 등록증 and I do plan on getting one in the future as I want to sell on those sites. Idus seems like a way better site to sell on than Etsy actually 😁

However, I do already have an Etsy shop I used to sell on back when I lived in the US that is still connected to my US bank account (I still use to do online shopping). I also want to do crochet commissions through Ko-fi. I also recently became a Twitch affiliate with the payment setup to my US PayPal but I haven't reached my 1st payout yet.

So I wanted to know if am I able to return to selling on Etsy and receive income from Twitch without registering for a Korean business license? 😅
