Match Preview
Big, big match as it will either create pressure on Manchester United or allow them to go 8 points ahead of us. They currently sit 5 points ahead of us. Plus I'm the only Liverpool fan in a family full of Gunners, would love to see them get crushed... again.
From LFC Website
Liverpool have now gone 559 minutes without conceding a Premier League goal away from home since Robin van Persie scored for Manchester United at Old Trafford on December 14.
Since that date, the Reds have kept six league clean sheets in succession on the road and if they shut Arsenal out today they will set a new club record of seven.
This fixture is a clash of the teams who have accumulated the most Premier League points in 2015 - Arsenal 27, Liverpool 26.
In league and cup there has not been a goalless stalemate between the teams since January 1999 (at Highbury). Since then, 40 meetings home and away have produced at least one goal in each. The Reds have scored in 12 of the last 15 visits in all competitions.
The Reds' biggest Premier League win at Arsenal is their last - a 2-0 victory in August 2011, with an own goal from Aaron Ramsey and a strike from substitute Luis Suarez.
Kolo Toure made 225 league appearances for Arsenal between 2002-09, scoring 14 goals in 326 games. He made his Gunners debut against Liverpool in the FA Community Shield in Cardiff in 2002.
Two victories from the remaining five away games will see the Reds record 10 away wins for a second successive season for the first time since 1989-90.
Liverpool have won 199 Premier League points since Brendan Rodgers became manager (this will be his 107th match in charge).
Match Commentary
WHO'S READY TO KICK SOME ASS
1': Game on, all Arsenal in the beginning stages
3': Carzola shoots through Moreno, but Mignolet saves
5': Massive mistake from Kolo, takes too long on the ball and Arsenal are through. Mignolet saves Ramsey's original shot and Kolo is there to clean up. Very lucky.
7': Giroud fouls Markovic. Giroud regains possession after the free kick only to be called offside.
9': Our first attack of the game, Henderson makes a run down the side and crosses it. Out for a corner.
11': Kolo kicks it straight to... someone on Arsenal and they attack only to be thwarted by Coutinho.
12': They're pressuring our back like crazy, and we've found it hard to keep up.
15': Another Arsenal attack, falls apart when Moreno is fouled.
17': Pretty promising attack for us. Sterling crosses it and no one's there, Henderson picks up the rebound but it's cleared.
18': Markovic goes one on one with Ospina, opts to pass it to Sterling but there's just too much and Sterling misses it. So, so close.
19': Coutinho shoots and it curls wide.
23': Seems to be that we're back in the game, good pressure from both sides.
27': Sahko's gone down clutching his knee, still limping...
29': Sterling breaks their defense and crosses it to Henderson who is unmarked and juuuuust misses it.
31': Mertesacker seems to enjoy clinging on to Sterling, yet to be called out on it...
34': Looking good guys, let's keep this up!
36': GOAL! Arsenal 1 - Liverpool 0. Bellerin goes past Moreno and curls it into the far corner past Mignolet.
39': GOAL! Arsenal 2 - Liverpool 0. Sahko fouls just outside the box. Ozil to takes the free kick and it curls past Mignolet. Fuck.
42': Toure boots it away in a bout of miscommunication with Mignolet.
45': GOAL! Arsenal 3 - Liverpool 0. Sanchez takes it past Toure and finishes into the roof of the net. What the fuck is happening.
HALF TIME. Getting chocolate. And other various assortments of food. My face right now: http://i.imgur.com/9c135pi.gif
Can we not do the whole "This is shit I'm leaving". Come on guys support the team.
SUB: Sturridge for Markovic. Putting my money on him to ascend to divine form and score four goals while Ospena averts his eyes.
2ND HALF BEGINS
45': Just made a bet with my Dad that we'll come back and win 4-3. Guess we have no choice but to win now.
48': YELLOW for Can. Clipped Santi then gave the ref too much lip.
51': Arsenal backheel saved by Mignolet. The quick break is on. Sterling shoots and skies it.
53': Sterling's cross to Sturridge is collected by Ospina. On the break it's crossed to Giroud, Sakho misses it and we're lucky Giroud does too.
55': Mignolet with an insane stop to deny Arsenal a fourth. Header from the corner goes straight to him.
56': Arsenal's counter breaks down when Can stares at the attacker forcing him to go limp and fall over. Can collects it cooly. He then regains the ball at the edge of the box and shoots, saved and out for a corner. Corner goes nowhere.
58': Liverpool attack ends with Henderson chipping/shooting over the crossbar.
61': SUB - Ramsey off for Flamini.
64': Flamini with a really rough challenge on Welsh Xavi.
67': Ozil breaks on the counter, but makes eye contact with Can. Ozil's legs lose all strength and the attack is over.
70': YELLOW Bellarini collects Sterling and gets a deserved yellow.
71': Arsenal counter broken down by a Moreno tackle, much to the dismay of... Dammit I can never get their names.
72': Can shoots but the ball makes the shot miss.
73': SUB Ozil off for Welbeck. I'm quaking in my ugg boots.
74': Henderson shoots off a corner kick, but apparently hasn't been listening to Coutinho's lessons.
75': PENALTY Bellarini fouls Sterling but doesn't get a second yellow :/
76': GOAL! Arsenal 3 - Liverpool 1. Henderson steps up and puts it away despite Ospena getting a touch on it. I'll collect my winnings now thank you.
77': Sanchez breaks free after tackling Lucas, but is brought back for a foul. Takes it well.
79': Sterling having difficulties, seems to be limping a bit.
80': Ospina who undoubtedly predicts his sides impending loss, proceeds to boot it at Rodgers off the goal kick. Rodgers however bats it away like it's nothing.
81': Welbeck through on goal, Mignolet saves and it goes out of Welback for a G.K.
83': Sahko twists and turns through two Arsenal players who break their legs trying to keep up with him.
84': Henderson stays down after Toure... erm, bowls into him. Ref breaks down Arsenal's attack to see if he has sustained a head injury. Arsenals players and fans more than happy to allow him to bring it back.
84': RED CARD - Can is off after a poor challenge on Welbeck, earns a second yellow. Really, really, unnecessary challenge. This is pretty bad.
85': Moreno plays it back to Mignolet who does incredibly well to control it then turns an Arsenal player inside out, damn.
87': Kolo falls over as Welbeck breaks. He makes amends however after tracking back to prevent Giroud shooting.
89': Carzola hits the post. Ha.
89': BREAKING NEWS, Brendan volunteers to play in defense against Blackburn.
91': GOAL! Arsenal 4 - Liverpool 1. Giroud. Fuck.
94': Kolo scores 10. Arsenal 6 - Liverpool 9. Game.
