Why doesn’t SNL bring in more Internet Celebrities as Hosts?

It seems like a sure-fire way to bring in the next generation of viewers?

I would love to see it happen, I’m 35 and grew up on SNL. I recently over the last 2-3 years have become way more interested in ‘online celebrities’ than ‘real ones’ … Their content is good, they have larger followings than a lot of the hosts.

And if it’s because they aren’t comedians or actors, what does that matter? SNL has some of the funniest people in the world on staff to help make these people see great in a sketch.

I’d love to see people like…

Ninja, the guys from Red Letter Media, Binging with Babish etc hosting.

Thoughts?
