I write this so I can sate my thirst for any worldbuilding these games have done so far, so any takes would be appreciated.
Little Nightmares as a whole is a pretty screw up place, where bad often smothers good in its infancy (mono my poor child :(), but what caused it to be this way?
Are there any good adults? Where do the Children come from? What happened to make the "Mainland" so chaotic that the Lady chose to just leave it alone and retreat to the Maw? What happened to the missing inhabitants of the Pale City? What happened to the world at large?
My understanding is that there is, or was, a theory floating around that the world takes place in an alternate-WWII, but I read that on the old wiki, so I don't know how credible that is. I also read that apparently Six came from a city somewhere and was taken by the Ferryman at some point in time, which implies that normal civilization exists somewhere in the world.
Is there anything we know? Any takes?
